On RFID

We have done a large number of projects on various aspects of RFID, including a number of RFID patents, applications, case studies, and products. Our work is summarized in the attached powerpoint slides (ppt slides) [updated on Oct 12, 2007]

A web-portal that provides a new paradigm to rank journals. As of Sept 2007, it has 3500+ registered users and attracted multi-million hits from over 100 countries, and from more than 1000 companies, universities, and research institutes.

We hypothesized that not all citations are the same; citations by papers published in good journals should have more weight than citations by papers from average journals. Furthermore, indirect citations must also be taken into account. For example, a solid piece of work in pure mathematics or theoretical journals may reincarnate into something more palatable in applied journals. The results from the applied journals that are motivated by theoretical work may be used in many more areas. These works may only cite works from applied journals while pioneering works in pure and theoretical journals may inevitably not receive their due credits.

The system not only considers journal self citations, citations from papers from different areas, and the duration of the impact, but it is the only online system in the world that allows members to interact with the system to adjust with several ranking aspects in the area of interest
