The system has resulted in year on year savings of USD$20,000,000. | 2006 July 2006 Innovative Application of Artificial Intelligence Award by AAAI for our work on Strategic Freight Procurement for Air Freight and Air Courier We streamlined the entire strategic procurement process of Philips to dramatically improve its ability to collect, organize, analyze, benchmark, negotiate, and optimize rates from their service providers such as DHL, UPS, Fedex, TNT, etc. The system annually enables Philips multi-million dollar savings since its deployment. | 2002 July 2002 Innovative Applications of Artificial Intelligence Award by AAAI for our work on University Exam Timetabling System for the National University of Singapore in 2001 The system handles examination scheduling for the entire university using venues only within the university. It has many constraints such as capacity, time, spread, conflicts, etc. The system has resulted in substantial savings on rental costs of external venues previously required to cater to the capacity. At present (2007), the system remains an indispensable system in the National University of Singapore. | 2002 Runners Up, Singapore Startup Contest | 2002 Hewlett Packard INIT (Innovative Applications in IT) Merit Award | 2001 World Champion in the International Olympiad in Informatics. I was the team leader and trainer of the Singapore Team This is a historical event for Singapore. Singapore was joint champions with Slovakia, ahead of traditional “superpowers” such as China, Russia, other Eastern European countries, and the United States. Singapore has never been a world champion in any Olympiad since the beginning of all academic Olympiads. | 1998-2003 ACM Programming Contests. I was the coach of the National University of Singapore team. Our team was placed 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 4th, and 2nd respectively in the ACM Asian Regional Contests and was consistently placed well in the world finals. | 2001
